Here’s some free resources I’ve created for making zines!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s a zine I made about zines; what they are, a little about their history, how to make them, what to do with them, and where to find them. The content is taken directly from the Powerpoint slides I use in my zine workshops, along with some extras. It\u2019s US-centric in its information, but I think people outside the US may still find it useful. Feel free to make copies and share, but make sure the credit to me and Creative Commons license info is present on the back page and don\u2019t sell it for profit. If you use anything I wrote or drew in the zine, please credit me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instructions for printing:\u00a0<\/strong>Print the zine double sided at 100%. Stack the pages with the page that has the cover on top. Cut down the center (horizontally) of the stack and put the lower stack under the upper stack. Staple at the center of the stack and fold the zine into a booklet. I’ve been making zines for years now, and during that time I’ve generally had to figure out how to make more complex zines on my own, as almost all of the resources and templates that are freely available are for simple mini zines. Now that I’ve gotten a hold of Affinity Publisher and it’s starting to get popular as an affordable alternative to InDesign, I decided to make a bunch of templates so people can have an easier time making text-heavy zines with more than a few pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note that these templates are for US Letter sized paper!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
